Dream Theater Tribute

I apologize about the less-than-awesome lighting, but I had to use a regular point and shoot camera with flash and a simple desk lamp, seeing as the drawing itself is an A3 and wouldn't fit in my scanner.

So I was in Copenhagen the other day, for Dream Theater's big show. It was pretty much my first big rock concert experience. Not that I've never been to rock concerts before, but this is the first time I actually saw a band that I really love, and wasn't dragged. The concert itself was fantastic, and I met a lot of passionate fans, and made some new friends. I've learned that these guys are not just great people, but amazing musicians, and their live performance is just as good as the studio recordings...scratch that, they're even better!

I got to meet them in person, and I brought this drawing with me for them to sign. Most people brought their copy of the latest CD, or a standard DT poster. When I gave this to John Petrucci to sign, I was overwhelmed by the positive reactions I got from him and the rest of the band. Really, I wasn't expecting it at all, and I'm so pleased, there are no words to explain it.

I spent probably 6 hours on this in total (the day before the show), all done with pencils, and permanent marker for the Majesty symbol in the middle. So here it is now, signed by each member of the band. Hopefully by tomorrow, it will be framed and will adorn my wall.
